Correction

An article on Feb. 25 described a startup's encryption algorithm as "constant time on average." The company has clarified that the average is computed over a distribution of adversaries, most of whom are hypothetical. We stand by our reporting, in expectation.

Correction

An article on Feb. 22 ("Groundbreaking Study Confirms 'I Asked AI' Now Valid Citation Format") stated that the AI Citation Manual had been ratified. It has not. It has also not been written. We regret the error and note that the source was, itself, AI.

Correction

An article on Feb. 21 attributed a side-channel defense involving water to Dr. Bartholomew P. Sniffington. Dr. Sniffington has requested we note that the spray bottle was set to "mist," not "stream." We regret the imprecision.

Correction

An article on Feb. 18 ("Seattle Engineer Speaks Six Languages, None Offline") identified Mrs. Tanaka as the source of soba recommendations. Mrs. Tanaka has clarified that she recommended the udon. The soba was from a different Mrs. Tanaka. We apologize for the confusion.

Correction

A headline on Feb. 14 described an algorithm as running in "constant time." The developer has since clarified that the constant in question is approximately 14,400 seconds. We have updated the article to reflect this, which is to say, we have not updated it at all.
